RAITE: I.T. Beyond Tomorrow: Shaping the Digital Frontier

On October 17, 2025, I attended the Regional Assembly on Information Technology Education (RAITE) 2025 , held at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), Sumacab Campus in Cabanatuan City. The event was organized by PSITE Central Luzon with the theme “I.T. Beyond Tomorrow: Shaping the Digital Frontier” The assembly gathered IT educators, students, and professionals from various institutions to explore the latest innovations and developments in technology and IT education. Aside from the insightful talks, the event also featured exciting competitions such as the Hackathon Programming , Quiz Bee , Micro Short Film , Cloud Computing Challenge , Lanyard and Medal Design , and Esports Tournaments for Mobile Legends and Valorant . RAITE 2025 provided a valuable platform for participants to learn, connect, and showcase their talents across different areas of IT. ICT Project Management

 On October 10, 2025, I attended an online information session titled “ICT Project Management” , organized by the DICT Regional Office X . The webinar ran from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and introduced participants to the essential principles of managing ICT-related projects effectively. The discussion focused on the different stages of project management from initiation to closure and how proper planning, execution, and evaluation ensure project success. One of the highlights of the session was the group activity called “Plan Your Own ICT Project,” where participants were asked to conceptualize and outline a potential ICT project. Some of the suggested ideas included an Online Barangay Information System, an LGU Mobile Service Request App, a Digital Library for Local Schools, and a Document Tracking or Help Desk System.   Introduction to Cybersecurity Webinar On October 11, 2025, I attended an online webinar titled “Introduction to Cybersecurity” , conducted via Zoom from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The session was hosted by Rufino John Aguilar , who focused on raising awareness about cybersecurity and how individuals can protect themselves from common online threats. The webinar covered several key topics, including identifying system vulnerabilities, understanding ransomware, and developing a strong security mindset. One of the most engaging parts of the session was the live demonstration of phishing attacks, which showed how hackers exploit simple mistakes like clicking the wrong link or trusting fake login pages. It was an eye-opening experience that revealed how easily one’s data can be compromised through small lapses in judgment.  On October 3, 2025, I had the opportunity to attend an onsite seminar titled “Cyber Secure Gens: Bridging Knowledge, Building Defenders Across All Ages” held at the Holy Angel University Theater in Angeles City. The event gathered cybersecurity experts, educators, and students to discuss the growing digital threats that impact people of all ages. Throughout the seminar, the speakers shared real experiences, expert advice, and even live demonstrations that revealed how deeply cybersecurity affects our daily lives. It also emphasized that everyone regardless of age or background plays a role in promoting a safer digital community through awareness and cooperation. Key Learnings The seminar offered a wealth of insights, particularly during the morning sessions. The event carried the theme “Understanding the Law, Protecting Our Rights, and Shaping a Responsible Generation” and was held from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The session aimed to help participants understand how technology and crime intersect, highlighting the importance of being cautious and ethical in the online world. The speaker discussed various forms of cybercrimes, the existing laws that protect individuals in cyberspace, and practical ways to prevent falling victim to online threats. Key Learnings This seminar gave me a deeper understanding of how cybercrime impacts both individuals and society.
