RAITE: I.T. Beyond Tomorrow: Shaping the Digital Frontier

On October 17, 2025, I attended the Regional Assembly on Information Technology Education (RAITE) 2025, held at the Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology (NEUST), Sumacab Campus in Cabanatuan City. The event was organized by PSITE Central Luzon with the theme “I.T. Beyond Tomorrow: Shaping the Digital Frontier” The assembly gathered IT educators, students, and professionals from various institutions to explore the latest innovations and developments in technology and IT education.






Aside from the insightful talks, the event also featured exciting competitions such as the Hackathon Programming, Quiz Bee, Micro Short Film, Cloud Computing Challenge, Lanyard and Medal Design, and Esports Tournaments for Mobile Legends and Valorant. RAITE 2025 provided a valuable platform for participants to learn, connect, and showcase their talents across different areas of IT.

Key Learnings

As a BSIT student, attending RAITE 2025 gave me a clearer view of how broad and ever-evolving the field of technology truly is. The speakers shared meaningful discussions about artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud computing, highlighting how these technologies continue to drive progress in today’s digital world. I realized that working in IT is not just about coding or fixing systems, it’s about using technology to solve real-world problems and make people’s lives better.

Another important takeaway was the value of continuous learning and adaptability. Hearing from professionals and students who are passionate about technology reminded me that success in this field requires curiosity, teamwork, and a mindset that embraces change. The enthusiasm of everyone at the event inspired me to keep improving my skills and exploring new areas of technology.


Practical Takeaways

The lessons I gained from RAITE 2025 can be applied both academically and professionally. The discussions on cybersecurity reinforced the importance of following safe coding practices and protecting user data in every project. The insights about cloud computing also sparked ideas on how to develop systems that are scalable, efficient, and accessible.

This experience motivated me to stay updated with emerging tools and technologies and to approach every project with creativity, integrity, and purpose. Most importantly, it reminded me that technology should always serve people enhancing the way we live, work, and connect with one another.


Positive Feedback

The RAITE 2025 event was exceptionally well-organized and meaningful. The balance between learning sessions and competitions made it both educational and enjoyable. Each talk offered practical insights that students could easily relate to, while the competitions gave participants a chance to apply their skills and showcase their creativity. The atmosphere was energetic and inspiring, and the organizers did a remarkable job of creating a memorable learning experience for everyone.



Suggestions for Improvement

The event was excellent overall, but adding more interactive sessions or hands-on workshops could make it even more engaging. Activities where students collaborate on small projects or participate in panel discussions with industry experts would deepen their understanding of real-world IT applications. Despite that, RAITE 2025 was a truly inspiring experience one that strengthened my passion for technology and made me proud to be part of the growing IT community.

  Introduction to Cybersecurity Webinar On October 11, 2025, I attended an online webinar titled “Introduction to Cybersecurity” , conducted via Zoom from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The session was hosted by Rufino John Aguilar , who focused on raising awareness about cybersecurity and how individuals can protect themselves from common online threats. The webinar covered several key topics, including identifying system vulnerabilities, understanding ransomware, and developing a strong security mindset. One of the most engaging parts of the session was the live demonstration of phishing attacks, which showed how hackers exploit simple mistakes like clicking the wrong link or trusting fake login pages.   On  August 30, 2025 , I attended a webinar titled  “The Dark Side of Social Media: Cyber Threats, Phishing, and Identity Theft”  organized by  Ethel Programming Computer Programming Services  in partnership with  DTI Philippines . The session was conducted online via  Google Meet  and was open to students, professionals, and anyone interested in learning about online safety. Like other events under EPCPS, this one was also free, and participants who completed the session received an e-certificate.
